AC/DC have announced their 2024 ‘Power Up’ European tour for this summer with a brand-new line-up.
It’s been a long time coming but Australian rock legends AC/DC will embark on a huge European headline tour this summer, including two shows at London’s Wembley Stadium set for Wednesday 3rd and Sunday 7th of July.
The band have confirmed that their line-up will consist of vocalist Brian Johnson, guitarists Angus and Stevie Young, Matt Laug on drums and Chris Chaney on bass – who as AC/DC themselves say will be carrying “the torch for Cliff” Williams, who retired from performing in 2016 though did make it back out onstage with them for Power Trip festival last year.
In 2020, AC/DC released their seventeenth studio album, ‘Power Up’. The record peaked at No. 1 on the Billboard 200, and topped the charts in several other countries around the world. Once again, Angus and Malcolm Young’s nephew Stevie Young, who took over rhythm guitar duties for Malcolm after he left the band in 2014 due to his declining health, played on the record. Malcolm Young passed away back in 2017.
The ‘Power Up’ tour, will see AC/DC play 21 dates across 10 countries this summer including Germany, Italy, Spain, France and the Netherlands. The band will end the tour on August 17th in Dublin. It will be their first tour in Europe for eight years.
Tickets go on sale Friday 16 February.
